Email Deliverability Issues

It came to my attention that some people's messages from the Forum were being flagged as spam. After doing some investigation I realised that we haven't updated any of our email settings since the first days of this forum four years ago.

Sadly, Kellyn will not be the "From" in all of the DelicaForum.com emails anymore, although we will miss the personal nature of Kellyn writing us every time we get a new message it was time to deploy a more mature e-mail configuration.

The automatic "unsubscribe" feature of many e-mail clients should now work. Furthermore the likelihood of your dear DelicaForum.com notifications being sent to spam should be much lower now, as I've improved authentication of messages in underlying internet tubes.

If anyone has any issues with any of these functions, or gets funky emails, please notify me or reply in this thread.

Maintenance

If anyone has any issues, as always reach out to me so I can fix them. Since we all use the Forum differently, I can go months without realising something is broken. It's typically only when someone writes me that I can fix it.

Finally, unlike some other Forums, we do maintain backups. We do a complete backup weekly of the entire Forum. In the event of a failure we should be able to recover quite quickly.

Database Growth

At some point we limited the size of forum images and that has drastically slowed the rate at which the forum size has increased. Unfortunately my attempts at retroactively shrinking old photos have so far failed. I'll give it another go in another few months. But at this rate in approximately a year or so we may either begin to outgrow our current home, or need to adjust our image policies. We still have ample space on our current server, but I mention this so no one is surprised in 1-2 years if we need to do some maintenance.
