HI all after cooking motor 4M40 in my Delica starwagon i found a roll over in the bush not far from where i live so i removed the motor and auto trans ,I then pulled the motor down sent block and crank to local engine shop to get measured and bored to the pistons i received in the rebuild kit i purchased on line .I then brought a brand new head complete with cam all set up ready to bolt on .i then sent fuel pump away to get rebuilt and sourced a new turbo ,so as you can see i have spent a bit of loot aprox so far with engine tanking counterbalance bearings install and boring ,$4500.00. So after thinking about this a little more deeply i am thinking getting transmission rebuilt or at least getting tork converter rebuilt Question is yes or no trany was working fine so i think ,but as you all know pulling transmission and engine out is not a job for the faint hearted .I rang a transmission place in Perth and was quoted aprox $3500.00 for compete rebuild. So as you can see the dollars are starting to get up there now we are looking at around $9-10.000 IS IT REALLY worth it? we will see.
The reason it over heated in the first place was the plastic header tank failed it was no more that 18 months old .I have ordered a new alli one .
i need to replace shocks can anyone suggest or recommend a brand and model no.?
Is there a engine hose kit available ?
Is there a replacement alternator and starter motor for this engine that i don't have to buy from Mitsubishi, this mob tried to charge me $100.00 for the front seal that i managed to get from bearing service for $12.00
Does any one have info on the auto computer and what scanner could be used to check it .
Thanks for reading
