mine is stiff and falling apart. anyone have one or know a site that has one? 1988 mitsubishi passenger van, gasoline 2.4l. thanks!

Maybe make an enquiry with Amayama.com, they're showing it as available but with a long lead time. Original part number MB507678, Substitute part MR100655.

Boy alibaba has it by the roll at as low as 50 cents a meter. Minimum order is 1000 meters so that's only about 3 hundred something sunroof seals that could be replaced if we get a bulk order!

So a little thread revival here please. Does anyone have the link to the part from Alibaba? We need one bad! Thank you!

Does the weatherstripping for the 92 Montero sunroof work for a 91 L300? I see it with the part #

mr100655 on factorymistubishiparts.com for $144 but non returnable so I want to be doubly sure

Well, I got it on the best I could. I can say that I was not pleased to see that there were no "pre rounded" corners, as it bunched up in the corners on 3 out of 4. 20201230_140348.jpg

One more thing to consider, the frame for the weatherstripping itself will need to cleaned very thoroughly. Any rust or debris will stop it from seating properly. Also, if your motor to open and close is weak or tired, it will only be made worse with the new gasket. It is now an operation that requires the switch and human power to both open and close. I may try to adjust it some more. Will see how it goes.

It looks pretty good for not being fitted with rounded corners! (Although thats what I would hope/expect for $144) You know- weather stripping exactly for that window- My motor is pretty shot too- I realized after I opened it for the first time that someone had put sealant around the whole thing. I was thinking- new gasket and never open it again anyway. You spray a hose over it to see what happens?

I think that’s great..I see what you’re saying about the corners but I don’t think that would bother me. Looks great - let us know how it holds in foul weather. Mine was bondo’d shut and isn’t long for this earth. Thanks for the tip!

It surely can't be worse than watching it in the car wash tunnel with water just pouring inside.... with 2 more rinse cycles to go . I tried to cheat it and make my own. Like lots of things in my life, apparently I like to learn the hard way

Make sure your drain tubes are clear. Mine weren't. When I finally cleaned them out I think a liter of water dumped out. This also meant whenever I went downhill, water didn't start pouring out the sunroof onto the captains chairs.

He lives in San Diego, I don't know that foul weather exists, we may never have an answer.

mine was leaking and the motor was tired so I disconnect the power switch and sealed the window from opening and preventing further water leaks. Never opened the sun roof anyways.

yup, drain tubes. there are four of them. two forward and two rear. The front exut just behind the front wheel mud flaps in the "B" pillar. The Rear come out the "D" pillar. You will see little tubes poking out of the body.

I had to go from the bottom to clean them out. Since your sunroof opens you may be able to do it from above. I used shifter cable from a bicycle and fed it up from the exit. Poked around a bit, got some drips, continued to poke until it gushed out. Being in Washington, there was no shortage of water hanging out in there to help flush things out. Typically on my other cars I would pour water directly into the drain to help flush it. They were quite a bit more accessible than on the van. If I am not mistaken some people have used compressed air to clear them as well, but you have to be careful not to do it so hard that it seperates the tube from the sunroof assembly.
