I had a code 41(1st NOT SYNCR) show up on my van the other day. When coming to a stop it wouldn't go again, just revved up like it was low on fluid. I haven't had time to look into it any further than that and it's not driveable atm. The shift indicator was flashing-indicating the trouble code is stored. When I'd shift into drive or reverse it'd bang pretty hard until I cleared the code then the banging quit instantly. But it'd still seem like it falls out of gear after driving a few feet. I'm hoping I don't need a transmission, the few used I found so far are $2800-3000 plus shipping.
One other thing I noticed that I don't know if it's normal or not, when in drive and I hit the hold button on the dash there's a loud buzzing from either under the hood or at the transmission. Sounds like an old ford starter solenoid when you have a dead battery or corroded terminals. I don't remember hearing that before but I've only tried that button a time or two when I first bought it last fall.
