WARNING! Beware of Scams!

Scammer

New Member
New scam alert. Someone sends you a DM/message saying "[well known forum user] has [that part you want], you should email them at [scammers email address]".
-Don't email them, send them a DM on here first to confirm.
-Click Report on the message so admins can investigate and deploy the banhammer if needed. Or if we're bored. We love the banhammer, it's so satisfying.

Beware of offers to sell you a part you are looking for from new members; it is almost certainly a scam. And do not pay for any item using PayPal Friends & Family or any other unsecured/unprotected method (e.g. Zelle bank transfer) unless you are certain you trust the individual... YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY and get nothing in return.

To identify new members of low trust hover over their user name and look for their activity level and registration date in the pop-up. Low numbers should be a big red flag.

You can also click on their user name and check their profile... a lack of information in their "about" page and low activity means they probably only joined so they could send you a scam PM.

We cannot keep an exhaustive list of scam e-mails, but I will add them as I become aware of them. Known e-mails to avoid:
nicholashenry283 at gmail.com
raniwaldo2 at gmail.com
seangarrett1965 at gmail.com
militiaben at gmail.com

If you get a message that says to reach out to an email, just click "Report" and the Admins/Moderators will investigate and then we get to use our Ban hammers.

Had a couple people respond to my classified wtb saying they knew someone with a part and to email them. Asked if they accepted PayPal, which has buyer protection and of course they did not. Def felt scammy, be careful out there.

Please, report the potential scam people to the moderators! We will investigate and can remove them if necessary.

does anyone knows 'edwardfran009 at gmail.com' Edward Frank? i received PM from the new member 'Sambright0055@gmail' with no posts who said, like usual, 'here is someone who has what you want, contact the guy by email'. i contacted the guy, he said '120 incl shipping and it yours. Use paypal for friends or family'. i asked for pictures, and he sent some screenshots, and no actual pictures of the actual item, and then said he is 58 and that is why i have to trust him, and that he would not scam for 205 USD. the paypal address for payment is 'lawrencejackson815 at gmail.com'
all sounds fishy
be careful over there
reported, off course
