Wilco Swing Gate with 5 gallon Jerry Cans - 1993 Delica

Folks,
Using a Wilco Swing Gate for spare tire, I added a basket to hold 5 gallon Jerry cans.
The extra fuel came in handy while up in Idaho wilderness and far from any stations. We
had one flat while out there and the mounted spare made replacement that much easier.

I edited the post to delete the zip file and add the images directly...
only a fool would download a zip file from an unknown source ;).

Do you have a model number for the swing gate? Any installation details? I haven't seen a Wilco gate installed on a Delica before.

Sputnik, I will have to search around for the model number. Had to order through JEGS off-road as Wilco customer service was lacking/poor. The product is very well made.
Installation - I had a receiver welded/installed. The key is to have that receiver sticking out far enough so that when the swing gate is installed, the rear hatch will clear the Wilco horizontal tube of the swing gate. This info may not be the best but I would be glad to email a video clip or talk.

Sputnik,
model number : 393-UHG3060-AU ( If you order through JEGS.com). There are MANY models but this is the one I ordered. FYI - Wilco website shows an adapter for 5 gallon cans but they no longer sell them. Therefore, I made mine because there is a lot of usable space between the tire mount and the hatch of the vehicle. Hope this helps.

Thank you much for the information!

www.DelicapartsUSA.com also has a nice one designed specifically for Delicas, but also fairly pricey.

I think I'll probably end up just altering the spare tire cage to accept my 30" wheel to get the tire off the roof rack where it lives at the moment.

I believe the XplorMor option is a triple receiver with dual swing outs and tire mount, storage box, and jerry can holders... the price was in the $1200+sh range, but that was a while ago (material costs have gone up I'm certain). And it could be customized +/- to some extent.

I know both the XplorMor and GoodKarrma products are high quality, and the Wilco probably is as well... personally, my spare is still under the van; I'm not even certain what size it is :D.

I went with the Wilco and added the support so that I could have the (2) 5 gallon cans. The extra fuel
really came in handy! Could not find that option with any of the manufacturers. I like all of the other
ones that have been shared....

Hi everyone,

Do you know what kind of bumper is on this L300? Do you think its a custom fabrication or purchased somewhere? Its exactly what I am looking for, a rear bumper for a full size tire, fuel cans and a hitch for my One Up bike rack.

Thank you

Further up thread there is a link to the Good Karma bumper that meets all of your requirements and is very similar to the one in your photo.

Thank you. I did see that, and it looks great. Its a big spendy, which I might just have to accept, but I was trying to see what additional options people have used.
