Just got off the phone with both BAR and CARB - looks like it is mission impossible to register a Deli in California . . . .Damn!
Interesting, my mistake was in calling CARB -the guy made it sound impossible, but of course, his job is to shut down non conforming vehicles in California. Good luck and enjoy your new Deli, such great little vehicles!
The guy you called from CARB is George at "the only shop in California licensed to perform the tuning required to register it in california." It's all BS. I registered it here in California no problemo.
Did they ask you for proof it meets emissions standards?Just got mine registered yesterday in Santa Barbara CA. No problem.
Sorry area code is 805 not 895
What state did you do this in? If in Californlia, what DMV? I'm willing to drive hours to finish this processIt can be done.
I got mine registered and just received my pink slip.
I paid about 1000$ on taxes at the DMV. And the issue popped up when they did the vin inspection. I got sent to the chp. Made my appointment and when down to see them.
I took all the importing paper work that had customs stamps on it.
Took about 40 min waiting. Officer came back and said it all looks good. He told me the DMV might ask me to go to bar but not to mention it.
Went to the DMV that same day. And got my plates. Also it's registered as a delica
