Crystal Lite Roof Shade Sliders

Not exactly "for sale", cuz it's a free offer, but...

These sliders attach to the cables for a Crystal Lite Roof's shades (these are specifically for my '91 Super Exceed; I'm not sure which other models they'd fit...). I had a few of these little guys break on me and so I recently modeled and printed some out on a 3D printer and they work good as new! I've attached the STL file (which can be used with any 3D printer) to this post and, if you so choose, here is a link to the model itself (you may copy it and modify it if you'd like!)

I'd suggest using plastic that is strong and can stand up to some wear and tear, not to mention the grease in the slide rails. I used a Markforged printer available in my lab (it prints using Nylon blended with carbon fiber), but I think ABS could do just fine!

Finally, here are a few pictures of the replacement for context.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing. I was just trying to figure out how to replace one that had broke on my '94 L400.

I'll check it against this and see if it is the same or different. If it is different I'll see if I can get a copy from someone with a 3D printer and share here.

For what it's worth, I'd be happy to print some for folks (can't start a print shop on my school's resources of course, but...) but that'll have to be later, when we're allowed to get back into our office once this whole thing blows over :) Hit me up if you haven't nabbed up a printer by then!

I have a 3D printer can print this in PLA, if anyone needs one.

Not sure it's the BEST plastic for this part, but it's what I have.

@Amelia Are you asking for someone to print you some? I'd see if you could find a local person with a printer. But, if not, I can print and mail them to you but the postage (USPS up to 8oz/226g is $15.85USD) would be more than the print costs ($6.09 USD).

Plus, you only would need 8 of them to replace all sets on your crystal lite shades. Or are you thinking of needing a couple for spares?

Hi, thankyou for your reply!
Were just looking for someone now to do it but if we can't we would love for someone to print some for us. And definetly a few spares do you use tinkercad by any chance?

I don't use TinkerCAD for creating objects, but I do use Fusion360 and OpenSCAD. However, the STL file is attached in the first post in this thread. So, when you do find someone with a 3D printer, just give them that file and they should be able to slice it in whatever slicer they want to work on their printer. Since I have a Prusa printer, I tend to use PrusaSlicer/SuperSlicer as the slicer of choice for me.

Thank you. One of my shades gave up a clip. So to repare it I had your STL file manufactured through a friend. It worked but the plastic broke-should have had it done in carbon fiber. The good news is I know how to get at the clip now to re-due it. Thank you. Any recommendations for fiber carbon replacement source?

very good job friend, I have an umbrella that I give up and another that wants to leave, I ask, were you able to solve the problem? How did you get to the clips and where did you get them? I have a 1994 L400

Hello friend, I hope you are well, I bother you to ask and are you still selling the annoying clip of the sunshade l400 or where can I find them?
I don't have a model for the L400 clip, but can help build a model if you have a part I can measure/model against.
