Delica jack

My Delica (L300) didn't come with a jack. I need to source a replacement and I'd like to get something that'll (ahem) work and that'll fit in the rear jack compartment. I'll probably just go to a junk yard and play around with something until I find a good fit.

Any thoughts or comments on this? A photo of an original set would be a big help! Looks like it's a bottle jack and not a scissor. Did the original kit come with other misc tools?

thanks!

Mine didn't come equipped either. I just bought a 12 ton bottle jack and that does the trick. Check Amazon or your local parts store. You don't need to life that much weight, but it will always work.

Same story here. Bought a bottle jack from Autozone. 12 ton I think. It doesn't fit in the compartment anymore, but I've got a box of parts/tools that I carry below the bed, so it's not a problem. Word of advice - before you're in the middle of nowhere, test it out to make sure it lifts you high enough to change the tire.

Also: there actually are a few original Delica jacks on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=mitsubishi delica jack&ssPageName=GSTL

I have the 12 ton jack from Autozone and it just failed on me so be careful. I only used it twice.

Mine's got the whole kit. I just took it out yesterday while I was replacing the shocks. Didn't use it, but just wanted to see what was in there. I'll take a photo tomorrow. There's a bottle jack and a small tool kit (which is kind of a pain in the ass to get in and out.)

Here's everything in my kit. There's a little rubber loop that holds the tool bag and jack handle. The jack bolts into the bed.

Montero from the same era 92-98 usually had that same jack. If you find a Montero that hasn’t been in a salvage yard too long they are in a flip down compartment under the second row seats. Found a number of them over the years.

This fits in the compartment.
Always a bit worried about HF stuff that lift and hold. I was in the store one day and there was a lot of oil at the base of their floor model bottle jacks. That was a big no thank you for me.

I always back up the jack with axel stands for that reason...
It is rather ironic we are talking about or mentioned HF jacks in this thread and jack stands. Yeah couple that HF jack with some of those HF jack stands that were recalled due to accidents and you have great potential for testing out health insurance (hopefully not life insurance) coverage. Full disclosure I have one of those HF jacks in the back of my Delica.

At home yes. What do you do on trail or road? I always end up carrying a Jack stand with me. Most importantly for being off road.
I have a Powerbuilt UniJack in my van... I have the 3 ton for the extra lift range (11-21"). There is a 2 ton a little cheaper (8.5-18"); or a branded 4 ton (11-22") if you want to go all out.

Besides the fact that it does both jobs in a pretty compact package, I really like that it is mounted on a plate... really helps prevent it from sinking into the ground on less improved surfaces.
I also have a Hi-Lift jack with wheel hooks and large foot pad I've used to get the uni jack in position under the van... but it's been used as a winch more often than as a jack.

I don't see me ever using the factory bottle jack... I wonder if my old toyota bottle jack will fit in its' place...
