Engine Block Heater

I've been searching this dipstick tube for hours. Why would the dip tube in my 4d56 not have a bracket bolting it to the block? I'm unable to find another one like it.

Oh ok. Thanks! I think I have devised a plan to get it out. After work.

There should be a ridge at the bottom of the tube that keeps it from going too far into the block. If you can get a flat blade between it and the block you can use it to pry up wards. Have you tried a little heat on the block? It’s got like 30 years of gunk holding it together.

Is this next plan feasible?
,- drain oil
- remove pan
- push tube up and out
- put in block heater
- reseat oil dip tube with new o ring
- reseal the oil pan
- new oil filter
- fill with oil
I appreciate any thoughts. And thanks for time.

Did you(or can you) get the tube to spin at all or is it completely stuck in place?

I can't get it to spin. : (.
What do you think about dropping the oil pan and bumping it from underneath?
