Flying to Japan. Looking for parts

Hi all, going to Japan today for a ski trip. Visiting Sapporo, Osaka and Tokyo. Was wondering if anyone knows of shops in those cities that carry L300 parts/products/accessories. I could bring with me small things in my snowboard case. I have a 2020 engine swap working well, new radiator upgrade and 5 bolt exhaust system already in place. Any upgrades you would consider? Thanks a lot.

I don’t know about shops but if you have your hotel sorted you may place an oem parts order from amayama and have it shipped there then hand carry it home. You could save a bit of coin on shipping if you can stuff whatever in your luggage.

Otherwise, i’ve not heard of anyone getting any aftermarket stuff out of Japan. Period. Everything is coming out of Taiwan.

Hope I'm not to late responding. Here in Japan AutoBac and Yellow Hat are the big box stores for parts and accessories...while they can help source OEM parts they are not the cheapest and while they have a stupid amount of accessories they don't have the biggest selection. For OEM parts here it is far cheaper and much fast, especially in the locations listed, to just go to the Mitsubishi certified mechanic with part numbers.
As for accessories the best thing is local shops, just google 車 改造 (car modification) or 車 アクセサリー (car accessories) and Google map for the biggest stores. A lot of the store you will find will be sport/drift focused and while walls of pre built exhaust/turbo kits and seats are awesome to see they don't offer much for us l300/l400 owners outside of creature comforts and cosmetics.

You aren't really going to find anything for the L300 in Japan, it's too old and the emissions law banned them from major cities

Not really true. Sourcing can be hard without a native speaker but they're still peppered everywhere. As for being too old and emission laws... The Japanese have an easy way around this by just registering it as a 100 plate, as mine is registered.

I mean there aren't that many companies making aftermarket parts anymore. JAOS, 4x4 engineering service, etc. all stopped a long time ago.
You can either buy used stuff at auction or order genuine parts from a Mitsubishi dealer but none of that requires a trip to Japan (if anything, dealing with the extra luggage is more of a hassle than it's worth).

I tried the amayama site shipping to local hotel method, but missed shipping by one day as I'm staying less than a week.

Noooo....so you had it shipped and missed it or there just wasn't going to be enough time?

I arrived Saturday and leaving next Friday, but shipping estimated it won't arrive until after Friday... Fate
