I wish I could blame this on the weather (snow and ice..) but it was my own stupidity:mad: I'm just lucky I didn't bust the glass. What happened? I was rushing, groceries, two children, 10 degrees..got them in the house, had the hatch open and was pulling it into the garage. Crunch. Now I need body work and a paint job on the rear hatch AND a new mirror. I'm trying very hard not to be disgusted with myself.... Anybody want to take bet's on how much this'll cost to correct?
I might be selling that VW after all:rolleyes:

I just had my entire roof redone and it ended up costing about $1700. That fold in the hatch is going to be the worst part of it. Reversing mirrors go for about $50 on ebay and you can still find them retail.

Sorry to hear about this,

Thanks Feet. I keep telling myself that this is a good thing because I had to get some rust repair done on the bottom of the rear hatch frame, where the latch is. It's something that needs to be done, but is invisible unless you look for it (japanese addition of 3rd brake light ran wire under rubber seal for rear hatch allowing water to enter and collect at the bottom....metal lip for the seal is gone for 3 or 4 inches from rust...) and now I HAVE to go get a quote. Again, am I glad I didn't break the rear window....I get queasy when I think about how close I came to really screwing myself....
You must have a CrystalLight huh?

Damn. Shit happens! I once put my car on a hydraulic lift without shutting the trunk, and when I raised it up, it crunched the spoiler/trunk on a rafter beam.

Good luck!
