Hi,
my brother-in-law (see him on my avatar image) who is South Californian, called our Delica "nice from afar - but far from nice" when he saw our L300 for the first time. He is so exactly right! An intense parts research made me stumble upon your great forum. Great to see you Americans beginning to delve deeply into the fascinating details of the Delica 4WD!
Ours is a 1993 swb model with 87 hp Diesel engine and 5 spd gearshift. The wheels are a 245/75R16 oversize (quite similar to 31x10.5R15) and required a decent lifting plus a little bodywork in the front wheel wells. It is equipped with a Reimo poptop, kitchenette and sleeping accommodation for four. (Okay, two grown-ups and two children). I bought it in 2007 with a broken transmission bearing and found out that another lot of parts were badly worn, too. Anyway, we courageously used the van until now, and in spite of its overall appearance it didn't let us down a single time.
Which is - by the way - what we wish to everyone here on this forum! (-;
