My left low beam is out. I removed the housing and accessed the low beam bulb. Is this the whole replacement piece?

Hi all

rtaylor6753, what brand/model bulb is that? One of our low beam bulbs is out as well.

Thanks!

I just replaced the bulbs in my 92' Super Exceed. Low beams H3, high beams H1. I used Vision X - xenon for my lows and they work pretty well.

I contacted Headlight Revolution (they do a lot of testing) about LED replacements for our application. They had no recommendation for the H3 replacement LED. They suggested the Supernova V.4 LED for the H1/high beam. It was far better than the competition, but pretty expensive. Almost $300 for a pair, I couldn't afford it...makes the Halo's seem like a better choice.

Thanks all for the info everyone, as always.

I'll stick with halogen for now, and upgrade to LHD assemblies with LED when I have the $.

Thanks again all. I replaced the left low beam headlight bulb last night. The 15 min job required an hour since the rear bulb access cover wouldn’t rotate to come off. I just about had to destroy it; the solution ended up being pushing as hard as I could on one of the fins with my left thumb and use an odd jam-the-tip-of-a-flathead-screwdriver-into-the-edge-of-the-cover-and-use-leverage-and-twist-to-gain-2mm-of-rotation-with-each-effort. I highly suggest lubing up the gasket under the cover with some white lithium grease upon reassembly. It went back on with no effort, and it should come off again that way. Only three more bulbs to go. Ug.

I just bought $6 H3s at Oreilly’s. I think they just referenced a Montero in their database.

I did this over the weekend as well.

Was definitely not a 15min job for me as I had to remove the bull bar in order to access the screws for the headlight assembly.

I replaced the Low beams with H3 Philips VisionPlus and the High beams with H1 Philips X-treme Vision.

Now I need to correctly aim them!

Hey! Mind sending a link to what you ended up with? About to replace my projection OEM guys

Bumping this thread to see if I can just fit an h3 LED bulb in without issues? I remember reading somewhere that certain bulbs were too big on the backside. My HIDs were done and i threw in some cheap halogens and they were barely noticeable.

forgot the brand but i fit some without issue. still not bright enough for me to drive around without my fog lights on in really dark places though.

Bumping this thread as I am moving closer to to buying some of the LHD lights from ebay. Attaching a picture of the style, not going with the halo style but interested to see what people are using. Since I'll have the correct housings, (read: not blinding people I would like to go brighter. My 87 toyota van had similar low output lights. I have seen some nice LED bulbs that work with projector housings. Thanks s-l500 (1).jpg

I just purchased and installed new LHD-pattern headlights through Crazy The God (great company name :))

From the looks of it, they are the same headlights as what are available on EBay. These lights have a four prong connector, necessitating a cut a splice to the OEM plugs to make them work.

As for bulbs, low beams are H3, high beams are H1. I chose Philps CrystalVision H3s and Osram Night Breaker H1s. The new headlights have an option for a daytime running light, but I elected to cap the bare wire.

Here’s a link to a photo set from the install. Overall, the lamps are of higher quality and the install was smooth.

Excellent choice of bulbs! Those actually output more light without increasing the power. For those who don't like the blue light of CrystalVision, XtremeVision is the same bulb but without as much blue tint.

A warning for others: don't fit higher wattage bulbs to the facelift projector style headlamps. 55W maximum! Higher wattage bulbs will overheat the projector lens, which causes the lens' retaining flange to shatter, and eventually the lens falls out. They'll also overheat the headlamp plastic case and lens sealant, leading to water leaks.

I followed your recommendation from a prior thread regarding the light output! I was unable to source the XtremeVision, though perhaps I just didn’t look hard enough.

Any updates from folks that have tried different option bulbs for the facelifted delica lights? Got my new headlights, looking for bulbs so I have everything together for the swap. With the entire state of California now shut down figured staying busy is my best bet for dealing with current situation.

While waiting on my Delica I would like to go ahead and get LHD headlights ordered and on the way. Ebay/Crazythegod have a few versions that look exactly the same with different pricing and different part numbers. Which one for a 1993 in the pic?1993_mitsubishi_delica_1585577318d565ef66e7dff9f3T3A0223.jpg

I'll apologize in advance for being a total noob if there's some obvious difference I'm not seeing.
Thanks
