New Owner - two mysteries

Hi Everyone - have two mysteries I’m trying to solve. Brand new owner, new to Delica’s, and new to things other than DIY oil changes and the like.

Mystery one: I’m trying to track down one or more oil leaks. Spent a good 5 hours today degreasing and power washing the under carriage. Should have my answer in the next day or so. During my power washing, I came across this plastic hose that seems to be just hanging out on its own only connected on one end. Other end is just hanging loose. It’s beneath the oil filter and looks to be coming from the alternator. Any idea where this other end should be connected? I can’t seem to find a nipple anywhere.

Mystery two: this cable coming from the battery is disconnected. Previous owner moved to Europe which is why he was selling. Unable to reach him to find out why he had it disconnected. Does anyone know what it powers?

I do hope to be a contributor to these forums and not just ask questions. Just starting to learn this vehicle.

Appreciate the help!

I'm pretty sure in mystery number 1, the plastic hose connects to the black square connection (with round point inside of it) to the left of the words Oil Filter. You can see where it's connected on this post of mine with a different question about oil leaks in a similar area and similar photograph.

Yep, that looks like it. I actually tried to hook it up to that a few days ago and it just falls off, so I must be missing a part that keeps it in place. Or maybe a nipple broke off of there, or something.

Mystery1: There should be a wire inside that tube; the tube is just to protect the wire. The black thing is just a fancy spade terminal, squeeze the release tab and it'll unplug from the oil pressure sensor above. You'll need to crimp a new spade terminal to the wire inside the tube. That'll make your oil pressure warning light work again.

The second picture is of the AC cutout switch. Behind your finger there's a plunger type switch; at full throttle the accelerator lever pushes the switch, which cuts the AC out for 20 seconds, presumably for better overtaking performance. (Since you drive a Delica you're probably unfamiliar with these terms; "Overtaking" means when your vehicle goes faster than the one in front and passes it. "Performance" means engine power. These terms are of academic interest only, and not relevant to your new Delica.)

I'd plug it in, just because it's there and it'll stop it rattling around. It makes almost no perceptible difference though.

You truly are amazing, Grant.

— made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the help, and the comedy!
