Power steering fluid

It specifies Dexron or Dexron II. I believe J3 is a much later/higher spec similar to Dexron VI; the newer fluids are usually stated as being backwards compatible, but that's not always the case. I would probably use a cheaper DexIII fluid (actually, I would use whatever I put in my automatic transmission).

I have a bit of fram dexronIII left over. Am I reading your post right that I can use this in the power steering? I think the "slow drip" has gotten to a low point cause I'm hearing a groan from the engine when I turn now.
