Roof Access

I have the ladder in the back, but I usually step on the front tire... I tried a "over the tire step" but actually sits lower than the upper surface of the tire.

Front tire. I moved my basket to the driver side and pushed it forward. With the awning on the passenger side I wanted to be able to access the basket when parked/awning out. The front tire/tire sill are the easily the most accessible points without a ladder.

FWIW, Mitsubishi had a factory extendable ladder like the one you linked. It mounted to the rain gutter and would fold down.

My bar spread is just over 48" so tying down at the front is easy, the back not so easy. I will have an awning up (in next couple of days), so access to the other side will be important. I'm going to dig around and see what that factory extendable ladder looks like. Cheers!

Time to get more bars. I've got 3 up there now, but will be adding a 4th over the winter. This allows me to have one at the rear, one in the middle-front (B-pillar) and one at the front (A-pillar).

A BNIB one popped up on the auction sites a few months back. It was too expensive to import but I wish I would have saved the photos.
