Sadly up for sale is my beloved 1993 Chamonix. I'm very sad to let it go but a move forces sale and it's time for me to see her on to a new owner who will love her as much as I have. Asking $16,900.
I spent nearly a year searching for the perfect Delica -- in great shape, with low mileage, diesel, five-speed manual, and with a low roof (for all those parking garages out there). I found this one just post-import in 2018 and had it shipped to Seattle, where I've kept it garaged and well-loved. It's in superb shape for a car from 1993 and has had a lot of updates and maintenance performed while I've had it. It's been maintained by Eizo at Apex Auto (beloved local JDM specialist until very recently) who has done most of the major work. Eizo says this is probably the cleanest Delica in the Seattle area. Unlike the Canadian ones, which have spent a decade being beat up in the North, this one comes straight from light duty in Japan to me, where I’ve spent more money than I probably should have keeping it in great shape.
Updates include:
There are really only two things that currently pending to be fixed: the front convex parking mirror on the needs to be replaced (I have some of the parts), and I have an O2 sensor that needs a fitting welded into the exhaust pipe to be hooked up. There's a bent piece of sheet metal in the driver's side wheel well, probably caused by someone incorrectly jacking up the van at some point, but it only affects the mud flap on that side and is otherwise not visbible. Also one small annoyance, the ash tray rattles sometimes. Haven’t gotten around to fixing that.
This van has been loved and is in great shape. I’ve wanted a JDM Delica since the first time I saw one, and this is the perfect example I found after months of searching. It’s a great city car and has been great to haul stuff around the city. If there’s one weakness of the L300, it’s high-speed driving. The van does fine at 65 but it’s not a sports car. Sadly, I’m moving to the southwest and daily activities require too much 75+mph driving for the Delica to be a great fit. I’d rather get her to someone who can care for her like I have.
Clean title, fully registered in WA. No import nonsense required – van is ready to go. Vanity plates can be transferred if you want them.
I commute between Seattle and New Mexico but can arrange a time to see the van.
