Steering Gear U-Joint

I am looking for the spec for an aftermarket U-joint that will fit our bevel steering gear.
I measured stock at 16.6mm - 36T but the closest I can find is 11/16" (17mm) 36T from Borgenson.

I busted mine while wheeling a while back and have been working with @13mclean to find a better solution. No dice for either of us.
I am running an aftermarket one from DreamWorks that came with my lift. Mind you I might be the only person to ever shred one of the U-joint's but hopefully that is a one-time thing. Would still like to beef things up.

Hoping someone in Metric Land would know of a solution.

Did you bust the ears off of the u-joint? If not, I think you will be better off replacing the bearings; and they might be more common (?).

I would think that 11/16 (17mm) - 36 in split clamp style should work. You would need to measure the OEM shaft to see if 3/4 DD or 1" DD would work better for the other side. But I would probably just swap out a new (or used) shaft instead.

I don't know what exactly ripped apart, it wasn’t just a bearing fail. Things were detached. This was a while back and that part ended up in the trash.

@13mclean actually had part of my old shaft sitting at his space so we welded the good half of mine to the rag joint side of the OEM one.

Due to the body lift the length is not the same as stock. I know that Evan's running a longer mits oem from some other vehicle on his kit. Perhaps better than what Dream Works provided.

I was minutes away from getting on the highway when this went. It could have really of proven fatal when it failed.

I hadn’t seen a split one like you sent over. That may just do it. I think it may be worth a shot.

Also just dug around after you sent that holley link and found a 16.5mm one by sweet manufacturing for a saturn vue of all vehicles…
