Undelete EGR Valve

I live in Denver, CO and I need to register my 94 Space Gear. To pass step 1 I need to install a (previously deleted) EGR Valve (part # ME201829). I have a rough idea of what I need to do.

What all associated parts will I need to complete this job (gasket, hose, etc)? Has anyone used the cheap aftermarket valves?

Step 2 is emissions.

Step 3 is deleting.

If you get a used one from someone else who has done the delete it will probably come with the pipe attached... if not you need the pipe and gaskets either side. And depending how completely the delete was done, you might also need the control vacuum solenoid/plumbing.

Seems like a pretty thorough delete.

Anyone out there got a recently deleted setup to let go?

Got any used ones laying around? I am in Colorado and looking around here.

Not me; I have an L300...

There should be a hard pipe by the turbo/intercooler inlet. If it is there and has a plug on the end you're probably OK with the other components... assuming the electronic controller is also good. I know on the L300 the controller for the EGR is also the glow plug controller, and it often goes bad and is bypassed.

Could I, in theory, install the components and keep the delete plate(s) in place? I need the appearance of the system being intact, more than the system being functional...

In theory, yes. In reality, plates thick enough to handle the heat/pressure will probably prevent the EGR from fitting.
Assuming the EGR valve closes fully, the only thing you need to disable it is to prevent the vacuum solenoid from activating it (unplug the solenoid/vacuum hose/etc).

Note that you are also going to lose your EGT gauge unless it is relocated; and it looks like you'll probably need a new thermocouple for it...

Hook up the complete egr system when you find one and block the vacuum hose with a small steel ball

Hey All - I like to close the loop on posts. I was able to locate an EGR setup here in metro Denver, thank you Joe!

I had a few people offer help, from a member loaning me their EGR for the test (which would have worked swimmingly), to DelicaUSA having one on hand to ship me. Plus the advice given in this post and DMs.

Thanks for the help!

Wait, I didnt read all this but why??? A 94 is EPA Exempt? State/County restrictions are null

Edit* Nevermind, im a doofus I registered mine outside of California for said reasons. Cheers!
