What's the deal with diesel manual delicas

Greetings,

I'm new to the site,
I started looking for a Delica after seeing one in a parking lot that stunned me.

After looking at car sale websites I have come across loads of petrol and automatic ones, a few diesel automatics and only about two diesel manual, why is the diesel manual combo so rare?

I found one 1997 Chamonix PD8W manual diesel180km, and I was wondering if it would be any good considering there are not many of them around?

All the 4x4 I have driven have been diesel manuals here in Australia that is the norm.

I'm considering purchasing this Delica unless some can give me a good reason not to.

Thanks.

Short answer is that the market for them dried up. Mitsubishi shifted to a far more comfortable and passenger oriented design with the L400, where as prior models were much more split between cargo and passenger models. Plus consumers started just buying a lot more automatics in the mid 90s, so manuals simply weren't made as often.
