What Did You Do for Your Van Today?

Big day for me and my van today. Parts in, parts installed.

Update: Because I've been asked I figured I'd share. I ordered my parts online (MagaFlow 10416 and DC Sports EX-1011B). Pipe was provided. Welding was done by Austin's Pro-Max in South Tacoma. Bunch of old muscle head there. Some powerful cars on that lot and a 350 on a stand to gawk at. They were excited to see my weirdo van and got it all done and dusted in about an hour and change.

I'll try to get some video of the sound. The resonator on the end gives it a throaty growl that works really well in my opinion and the shorter exit seems great for evacuation. I think its a bit punchier at low speeds especially.

About 1/2" or so with the air shocks... the leaf springs are pretty tired. Adjusted the torsion bars for pre-mod body height but that caused the bump stop measurement to go from the specified 45mm to a touch over the 51mm 2wd spec... not sure why. I'll probably relax the torsion bars to the previous 45mm 4wd measurement so I don't have to get the alignment redone.

Had to press out the pins from the 708's and bore the bushings to 5/8... otherwise it's a pretty easy job. My rear shocks (original) were in VERY bad condition.

I suppose I could get some pictures, but there's not much to see.
I added some flooring over the weekend; sound deadening mat, 1/2" birch, 1/4" laminate, re-installed bench seat and soon to re-install one captain chair. Will adding the Monroe 708 help reduce the little bit of sag I can see? Looks close to 5/8" sag compared to front. I'm okay with a wrench but the Delica is my learning tool. Are these easy to install? The weight of camping gear and hitch mount bike rack not included, yet.

Yes. But there is the question of supporting more of the weight on the shock mounts rather than the leaf springs. I just recently found one of my shocks had failed (lower mounting pin sheared), but I suspect that is my fault due to over tightening the lower mount/bushings.

How long had it been on there?

Is this the ARB 2500? Looks good up there!

Yup! Finally got to use it over the weekend. Thanks @rdelica for the great shot

New belts. Also called Kellyn (thanks again for the help). The alternator does not want to move after its been in there a while.

Also put air shocks on the rear today. Pretty simple to install, really nice ride, and so much better than stock. Pumped up to 40psi to start.

I also put poly bushings in, and mounted the valve in an existing hole in the lower rear left body panel.

Where'd you get the poly bushings? I plan to add rear shocks of the weekend. I can bore the bushing if needed, I suppose, but new polys would be great. @Kyre

I already had them from some Ranchos I'm not using. I'm sure you could find on Amazon pretty cheap or a local suspension shop? The bushings they came with feel cheap. I'd use temporarily if you need them installed this weekend but would eventually upgrade.

Ordered some misc. parts from Coombs recently. Things like a center console, window curtain clips, those rubber caps for the rear bumper bar, etc. Small crap. It all arrives today and will be installed. I'm really excited for those arm rest/cup holders, going to be a game changer.
ARM REST CUPHOLDERS! You may have just changed my life!

Saw your other post that you used Yakima 1A rain gutters. Thanks for that as we've been trying to figure out which Yakima system would work well. We will also be mounting the ARB 2500 awning. What length did you get for crossbars and what are the awning mounts?

I think they're 62".

To be honest I'm not 100% sure. I just went to our local used roof rack shop and said give me 3 of something longer than 52". They overhang on the other side by about 8" so I've got plenty of room. And with the 1A system it's really easy to just cut them to size. So I'd recommend going longer and cutting down rather than shorter and finding you wish you had a little more room. I'm not cutting tho until I get my setup 100% figured out.

The awning mounts are from Vanagon Life. They're more expensive than some options, but look really nice.

Just replaced the front brake pads. Easy peasy. If you've got an older Deli with the sigle piston calipers, the Raybestos PGD349C worked great.
Sweet! I'll order and install after we get back from trip next week. I installed Monroe's yesterday. Ended up boring out the bushing to fit nice and snug.

The plan for today: pull out the CB radio I temporarily installed and return it for a smaller option.

May also start using up the remaining 20 or so sq' of DynaMat I've had in my basement. Anything I can do before this last camping trip will be great. Through it's not like I won't have plenty of time this winter to get things done.
