Delicas in MN

Crazy! I just drove through the cities this afternoon, not in my Delica though. That would have been fun to stop and see.

Keep this thread going!! Bummed I couldn't make it out on Sunday. My Delica search has been paused while I sell my VX, and then we'll get back to it again. Hope to connect again soon!

PS I saw Marlon at a Subaru meet too; small world

Alright, I'll keep this thread going. Sold my longtime baby this week (Isuzu Vehicross), so I have the funds for a Delica now. I'm committed to a manual diesel, and only considering Chamonix and Jasper models right now (maybe an Active World, but it doesn't look like their interiors are as nice). Anywhere nationwide and my budget is currently around $14k, although I'll gladly spend less, hahaha.

I've messaged a few people already this week, included a lifted Jasper in FL. Random question; anyone want a 2" lift? If I get that Jasper, I'll put the suspension back to stock height.

Hopefully another update soon! And thanks again to @moonpost and @I_Are_Brown_Bear for letting me check out your Delicas!!

Are you wanting a L300 or L400? Active World was L300 only I believe. Why Chamonix/Jasper only? While they have the coolest (IMHO) interiors, they are a lower spec than the more common Exceed (or above) and might not have the same bells and whistles.

L300!!

And you guessed it. The interior and exterior are the main reasons I want the ‘cold weather’ models, but also LSD for off roading and the extra roof insulation (if that even does anything). And the 8 seat configuration; the higher trim models more often have captain seats and/or crystal lite roofs, and I don’t want either of those.

But mostly, it’s that boss interior. The blue Chamonix interior specifically; 93-94 I believe. I like that one best.

I’ve been prodding the importer/seller on this Chamonix the last few weeks. What say you? I originally dismissed it because some errors in the ad, but now I’m thinking I could drive the price down a bit and get into a good (but not perfect) van that I wouldn’t care about the kids destroying as much. Or be as concerned getting more dents and scratches out on the trail. Eh? Am I trying to rationalize a questionable purchase?

I wouldn't want a perfect, spotless Delica myself. Because yeah, kids, trails, dogs, Minnesota will revoke that spotless status pretty quick. If that price can go down a bit, that could be a contender!

I messaged a few of y’all already, but went and saw this L300 today.

Owner, Matt, is awesome. Van is in pretty good shape for the price. I was only considering post facelift L300s for better headlights (?) and 3 point seat belts. And cuz I wanted a blue Chamonix interior, but I dunno. This one is pretty sweet, and I always kinda dug the square headlights. Thoughts? Try and convince me one way or another. And is there any other prefacelift issues or differences I should know about? Cheers

Alright, I made a verbal commitment and bought a ticket to the east coast to pick up a 92 Chamonix. Looks to be in great condition, and lots of maintenance done.

Unless there is some major flag upon my arrival, I’ll start the drive back to MN from CT. Should be a nice shake down run, haha.

Then meet up with y’all to give it a once over!!
Cheers

We're back in MN baby!! 1500 miles over 2.5 days from CT. Thing is a champ. Rain, sleet, wind, fog; unfortunately not great driving weather, but it made it easily and with no issues at all. Now for an oil change, and to get a hitch.

Parts started showing up this week. Got some trailer wiring for lights and brakes, and next week I'll order up 3:1 gauge and necessary EGR plates. This deli is my daily, so gotta make sure its running right, especially when I start towing our teardrop!

Hitch is on! Gotta find a good place for the 7 pin connector. Front runners are directly under the hitch (easy, close to center, but hangs low and could be ripped off when off-roading) or cut into the bumper where one of those boxes are (sleek, no hang ups, but far to the side will require more slack in trailer harness). Ideas welcome!!

And when's our spring meetup?! Snow is gone, haha.

Where should we meet? I’m around!

Is it actually spring yet? I'm still out in southern AZ. I'd be down for a meetup once I'm back in the midwest, it'll be awhile yet though. Planning on heading up into Oregon, Idaho, etc in the coming weeks.

The cows are quite curious down here lol.
