Hey! I just picked up a '94 L300 with a reimo camper. Couldnt be more psyched!
I just picked up a '94 L300 from Gila Monster Motors in Taos. Great experience. I'll be the first USA owner of the car, and as a result, I have the certificate of Import and a notarized translation. On the certificate of import, the domestic owner is listed as the import company, not the dealer that I purchased the car from, but on all the rest of the customs paperwork, the owner is listed as the dealer (gila monster motors). This morning, the lady at the Boulder County clerk and recorder balked when she saw that the certificate of import didnt match the bill of sale. I tried showing her the rest of the customs paperwork and that didn't do much. So, no temporary plates were issued.
So here comes the question: Anyone have any experience here? Should I just keep trying other DMV's until someone helps me?
Big thanks to everyone who has been so helpful in other threads. Huge help. Extra shoutout to @rennrot for his exceptional step by step instructions on registering in Colorado.
