Official Hyundai D4BF Engine Purchase Thread (Mar 2020)

Anyone have suggestions for who can get the parts needed for the engine swap (motor mounts, clutch release bearing, radiator hoses, etc.) right now? I ordered a ton of parts off of Amayama but they're trapped in Japan for the foreseeable future due to COVID. I definitely don't want to be van-less all summer!
I just ordered an engine mount from Coombs County Auto. Seems like they have a decent selection and if they don’t have what you need, call them. The guy said he’s got lots of stuff still needed to input.

To those of you doing the swap. You'll need quantity 4 of MB033054 - Oil Cooler Banjo Sealing Washers

The engine is going to come with a complete clutch and Pilot bearing. You'll only need a throwout bearing. I Can get you a SACHS clutch kit for $180 but it will be more than what you need.

Update: All Engines are Sold! In the future we'll definitely taking deposits, because that was a wiiiiild ride. Kellyn killed himself palleting these thing, but they're all on their way to their new forever homes!

We'll leave the thread open, but I'm going to start a new one soon for people looking to get in on the next preorder.

AMAZING WORK @Kellyn AND @paul !!! Thank you for being bold enough to get 12 engines at a single go!!! Hopefully for the next order, somone could offer new engine mounts, oil cooler banjo sealing washers, and for the manuals transmission people- a throwout bearing as a kit! That way, people would not be staring at an engine while waiting for Ayamama. :p

this is a great idea, with this new information we'll make a 'kit' available at time of sale. thank you for all of your guys' feedback!

My 4D56 runs well, but it has a number of leaks, including the rear main seal. After I pull it out and swap parts over to my new D4BF, I'll be posting it for sale. There might be around 12 other people that will also have old engines in various conditions that might want to sell. I'm mentioning this in case somebody is looking for something like that.

Apparently, two D4BF engines went to Portland, OR. Maybe one of those people will see this thread and offer to sell their 4D56 carcass to you. That would eliminate shipping costs for you. If that doesn't pan out, we can talk.

Thanks, Thomb. I spoke with one forum member who's getting a D4BF and getting rid of his 4D56, and he was very helpful (I'd actually sold him wheels before). But there's a reason he's selling his 4D56. :) I'm hoping to find one in good shape with minimal reconditioning.
