southern NH delica's?

I’m not in new Hampshire but I spent a few weeks this summer up there and stopped by northeast auto imports. Seems like the community is growing!

I’m in Pennsylvania.

That checks out! I was at northeast auto imports in July and pawtuckaway state park. Then I spent about a week up in the mt Washington area. Love that country

For those in New Hampshire - How was the registration process, and hiccups? When you went to register did you give them the 11 digit VIN?
I appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I had no issues with registration. The only issue I did have was attempting to get a new title for it in my name. They requested documentation from the seller in Japan to the buyer in the US only the seller they were requesting information from was not who the van was purchased from. The dealership where I purchased my Deli’ couldn’t give me any information that would suffice the DMV in Nashua. So I just gave up on any expectation of ever having a title. And oh yeah, they kept my money. Wouldn’t refund the title fee.

Hmm. I have a Pennsylvania title signed over to me from the dude in Pennsylvania that sold it to me.
I guess I will start an LLC in New Hampshire and have the LLC buy the Deli from me and register it in New Hampshire.
Or maybe just get rid of the Deli all together, which is heartbreaking.

I did have a Japanese original title, which was, "in Japanese" LoL. The dmv accepted it, but they apparently can't give me a new New Hampshire title. The dmv wanted a bill of sale from the Japanese shipper who sold it to the US acquisitioner, only the dmv had some Shipper/Seller that had nothing to do with my van. And the dealership I purchased it from didn't have anything they could give me that would work for the dmv.

"Why would you be considering getting rid of your Deli'..?"

Get rid of the Deli - Because it seems so difficult to register and be legal. Again, heartbreaking.
The policy makers and enforcers CLEARLY got it wrong when they decided to de-register Delicas but it doesn't seem like it is going to get better. :(

There's always Montana for titling/registration! If you see a white Delica (L300) with Montana plates in Nashua, I've been doing some driving in the area lately (as I go to and from Northeast Auto Imports). Not that I live around here, but I don't really live anywhere right now, just exploring the northeast for a little while before likely heading back over the Rockies come summer.

Confused, why they would be de-registering Delica’s in Pennsylvania if I’m understanding you correctly? I know they did that in Maine and Rhode Island but I was unaware that any other states had followed suit…?

I'm sorry. I'm not phrasing this well. I live in Maine. My Delica was sold to me by someone in Pennsylvania where it was legally registered and titled. I flew from Maine to Pennsylvania to purchase the van and then drove it to Maine.
Maine will not register or title it.
Thanks,
Mike

Another note, if I understand correctly - when Rhode Island tried not to register/title the Delica, Rhode Island actually reversed the mistake and allowed the Delica to be registered.
Maine is not interested in correcting their mistake.
Again, if I understand the Rhode Island case. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Best,
Mike

It’s actually Not a mistake… Maine refuses to allow the Federal 25 year rule. They passed the refusal back in 2002 I believe, and didn’t force the issue until last year or the year before…
