Thanks for these pics. It’s a bigger hunk to cut out of the plastic trim than I realized and could’ve saved myself some time making one big notch instead of two smaller ones had I looked here first! Pics could be updated on your instructions. I think I that section is more for the older model.

agreed 1,000% -- that is way too big of a chunk to be cut out of a perfectly good side panel. The ladder is great, so it is disppointing that the bottom mount doesn't fit for the high roof L300. I am resorting to designing my own bottom mount for my van, which may require finding a metal shop nearby as I'm not sure I can do it solo with my tools and small forge.

Yeah if the horizontal brace in the ladder that has the logo was just trimmed back a bit it would work too instead cut two small notches in the trim for the bolts instead of one large one. Easy fix in their end. I considered stopping and having a machine shop cut it back but was impatient. Hope I don’t regret it later. I hit the cutout area with black automotive primer and it still looks really good I think. I think only other Delica owners will notice and raise an eyebrow ;) I do have the high roof btw

We use the same brackets for Hiace, Low roof L300 and L400 ladders that do not run plastic lower rocker crud trappers. Let us look at new design for only lower bracket for High roof L300, to satisfy 2 so far complaining. about cutting plastic. Most cut and move on never look back and sell the ladder with the van.

No disrespect, Xplormor. It’s a good product. It was simply surprise during installation to need to make that cut is all. I will say that in just a week, the number of compliments on the van has jumped a bit. Apparently the van is much cooler and/or eye catching now ;) It made a day mission surf trip so much easier too—and no sand in the van.IMG_6086.jpeg

The lower bracket design evolved from a more complex design to fabricate, to our formed lower brackets. We can cut the U shape cutout at rocker back some so it would only be 2 smaller cut outs but either way still cutting some plastic. Same breath low roof vans do not have this issue, no plastic. That crud cover can cause some pain as it can hide the trapped material that can rust your rocker out...

looking good with rocker covers .
Not so good after removing to inspect.
