Part Number Thread for L300

Sorry, I should've been more specific: I'm looking for the adjuster wheel mechanism. 5231R is part number MB500831. However, I'm wondering if there are any cross-referenced parts I could find in the US at like NAPA, O'reilly Auto, etc. Like I found this for an '89 Mitsubishi Van or Montero and am wondering if it's the same unit as the MB500831 or if it's work.

There are a bunch of good interchange sites NAPA's comes to mind. That's where I'd start. Also, give your local MMC service and parts counter a call. The part number will be referenced if it's found in NA vehicles.

MB500831 does not come up on NAPA's website. However, I can find adjusters for the USDM Van, the Dodge Raider, Ram 50, and gen 1 Montero. I know the brake shoes are the same, but not sure about the adjuster. I might just have to see if I can get one and if it'll fit.

Good luck, interchange on our VINs is lacking.

A thought might be to find the NA part number on a JPN parts site like megazip.

Right, but I'd need the OE USDM part number first, not NAPA's number, right? (or is the part number the same across markets?)

IIRC you've got an '89. Here's what I did. I took the MMC part number and did a general search with google "MB500831 interchange." Par for course, I got a number of hits for genetic sequencing (MMC parts share a common naming convention with the human genome project) and a couple of Russian hits. I ended up sniffing down a dead end here because they don't recognize or list any interchange.

Checked MegaZip.net next. They have it, but they'll take a bit to get it here of course.

Take a look at the bottom of the page, however, they list the "Delica Van" which was sold in the US between 87 and 89.

Okay, keyword search at NAPA for an 89 Mitsubishi Van brings up this gem. I also checked https://www.mitsubishipartswarehouse.com, but may I suggest that their interchange and parts catalog is borked because I can't find the specific part or any reference to it.

Also, sorry it took me so long. I had a bunch of errands to run this morning so I was communicating searching via phone. I'm now ensconced at a coffee shop with my laptop which means I can dig more effectively. Late start days at my son's school just bork my day all to hell.

Good luck, hope that will fix your problem.

No worries at ALL! I'm just happy someone's helping me out here! I called NAPA for "UP 81357" which is the part number for the Raider/Montero/Ram 50. None available for at least a week.

So the next question is are my '89 Mitsubishi Delica's adjusters the same as an '89 Mitsubishi Van adjuster?

FYI, this is what the good side looks like.

As best as I can tell, the answer is "yes" but I can't find an interchange part for either. If you can get the replacement adjuster for cheap I'd go ahead and get it, otherwise, I'd just order from your favorite JPN parts store and see how fast you can get it here. YMMV

Well, I found an O'Reily Auto that can get me the '89 Montero adjuster by tomorrow morning. Another Delica owner on Facebook said that will work (he said that's what he used). We'll see.

Cool deal! Make sure you write down all the parts numbers (priority to MMC) so we can start our own interchange resource.

Best of luck to you with that bit, relative to my VW days parts seem to a lot easier.

Anybody know what type of front break pads will work?
Mitsubishi number I found - MR389526 and Napa number - UP UP7241X
Both seem to be unavailable. I am hoping there is a substitute I can buy at a local auto parts store.

24mm torsion bars from a Hyundai H-100.
The left side is part #5415043160, right side is 5416043160.

Cost is $55ea + $79sh to the USA from fourgreen.com. I chose korean post but they shipped via fed ex and I received them in 3 days!
