Parts Van?

Hi team,

Unfortunately I was sold a van (L400 2.8 diesel auto 1996) with some major frame rust around the front wheel wells, I have not had it checkout by a professional (due to next week) but after all the research, I figure I'm doomed at this point.

If I am doomed to be a Parts Van man, what can I expect to recoup? I don't have a heated garage or the means to store this vehicle for a long period of time so hope to sell it all in a go. Honestly there is not much else wrong with it, starts on a dim, everything works in the interior and drives fine from my point of view.

Very frustrating as its my first Van and was super stoked to camperize.
I took it to a local mechanic to check it over and asked to look over the rust situation before purchasing and he said all is well.... So I brought it.

If anyone could share a similar experience with frame rust around the front wheel wells and has photos they could share so I could compare with mine that would be great.

I want to make sure to cut my looses before investing in something I can not save.

Frame Rot. Is it safe to fix this?

So my frame has some pretty intense rust in the front wheel well near the upper control arm. As you can see there's plenty of frame missing. My plan was to weld it back up myself, but my research has me pretty scared. And the fact that most shops won't touch it due to liability reasons has me...

Frame Rust Repair

I have a 95 SWB Chamonix that's in good condition except for having the front frame rust problem. I'm wondering how feasible it is to fix that? Has anyone gone down that road or know anyone who does that kind of work? It's a good Delica, otherwise, so it's worth putting some money into.
