Hey, I'm wondering what the tire specs are that you ordered? I'm running 235/75/R15's on my stock rims, and these look beefy and good! Have you had to trim anything since it rubs a bit? Cheers!

Bent some mudflap prongs (can be seen here) and removed my front steps. The step removal might be optional depending on how saggy your suspension is. I see you're in Seattle, I might be interested in a trade in a few months if you're looking to get rid of the 235s?

  • Wheel: Ultra 50/51
  • Wheel Size: 15x8
  • Offset: -19
  • Tire: Falken Wildpeak AT3
  • Tire Size: 31x10.5x15
  • Running spacers (y/n): No
  • Lifted (y/n): Yes - Dreamworks 2" Body Lift
  • Notes: Side door hits upon opening, had to trim the body behind the front wheels. Prior to the wildpeak i had a yokohama geolander mounted and they were quite a bit wider than the wildpeak at the bubble of the tire. the sliding door would not open much at all. Things got better with the Falken mounted up.

Hey all

Looking for some advice to upgrade my wheels and tires. I currently have the OEM rims and 215/70r/15 Bridgestone Dueler A/T without a lift and I want to avoid having to do any modifications to fit. I'm trying to decide between 16 inch American Racing AR62 OUTLAW II rims with BFG All Terrain KO2 215/70R/16 from tirerack or 15 inch American Racing AR62 OUTLAW II rims with BFG All Terrain KO2 235/70R/15.

The local tire shop guy says I should be able to fit the BFG All Terrain KO2 215/70R on 16 inch American Racing AR62 OUTLAW II rims but I wanted to double check with the forum first before ordering. He also recommended checking out the General Grabber A/T as a lower cost alternative to the BFG KO2. Has anyone tried the General A/Ts?

Should I go with the 15 inch or the 16 inch package?

I can't see you having a problem with fitment.

On a 15" wheel a 30x9.5 is the largest you can go without rub issues. You can see that the 215/70/16 is still quite a bit smaller in size.

The outlaw come in both 0 offset and 25mm offset. I think stock is 23mm. I don't think the +2mm will create any problems for fitment, however it's never a bad idea to push those tires outboard a little. I think it's been determined that 0 offset is about as wide as you can go without dealing with rub issues. Plus, since you are sticking to a relatively narrow tire you should be good.

Might be good to dig a little deeper on that though.

so it looks like the 15in comes in either -06 mm or -19 mm offset which one should I pair with 30x9.5 ?

If you want to open your slider without hitting go with -6. it may still rub but not 100% sure with the 30"
Agreed with Josh, -6. I would not go to -19. You are almost guaranteed to rub somewhere if you are not running a lift. Either on the door or somewhere up front when turning. Mine would rub to the rear of the front tire with the wheel only slightly turned. The -19 creates kind of a crazy lever arm. I can take some pics later of what I'm talking about.

I'm at 8" -5 with factory size and no rubbing unless I'm at full lock reversing.
I'm just talking about the rear sliding door rubbing on the tire when you open it. factory size is still a bit smaller than a 30" tire as well so I wouldn't expect much if at all.

He can reference the website of the tire manufacturer. They will give rim width spec and tire measurements based on a specific width. He might be at the edge of the recommendation unless he isn't telling us that they are going to stretch the tires and stance it out. Which I’m down with too.

Another noobie question! I noticed some of the rims featured here have 5 lug nuts, but my delica has 6. When looking for rims am I able to go with 5 or can I only consider the ones with 6?

Well... if my memory is correct...

The US Spec 2WD Mitsubishi Van uses a 5 lug 14x5.5 wheel with a 5x4.5 Bolt Pattern.
The JDM Spec 4WD Mitsubishi Delica uses a 6 lug 15x6 wheel with a 6x5.5 Bolt Pattern
I was just assuming they were talking about the delicas in this thread. but also if you have a 6 lug you need 6 lug wheels. that is unless you like to live dangerously ;) an only put 5 bolts on.

I was actually confused by the American Racing Baja wheels I saw on some of the Delicas posted because tire rack only seems to offer a 5 lug but on closer look the photos show a 6 lug.

When using a site like tirerack that requires you to put in your vehicle make/model for fitting, what the best/most comparable vehicle to enter for fitting?

1989 Montero is probably your best bet. I think they used the same tire size from the factory, I KNOW they used the same alloy wheels as the Delica.

  • Wheel: factory (phone dial)
  • Wheel Size: 15”
  • Offset: ?
  • Tire: BFG KO2
  • Tire Size: 235/75R15
  • Running spacers (y/n): no
  • Lifted (y/n): no
  • Notes: Love these tires. Zero rubbing but stock size. They are much quieter on the road than I was expecting and handle well off-road. Had BFG A/T’s on my Syncro Westy 20 years ago and found the ride and noise quite harsh, so these have been a pleasant surprise. Tomorrow’s snow storm will provide an opportunity to test their snow capabilities.
