    Strange symptoms

Update: I’m back on the road, all is right. Backed it out with a drill bit, then 90 degree needle nose. No squeaks, @fiater not sure what may be causing yours. I somehow have uneven deflection between the 2 alternator belts, but they’re doing the job. In hindsight I’d have grabbed a 45mm bolt...

    Strange symptoms

Upon closer inspection, the bolt head had broken off. I grabbed a 10.9 shouldered flange bolt. Absolutely cannot fathom how you got vice grip pliers on it @fiater . I blew Plan A, pulling out the bolt with a nut and Loctite red. Now I have to try extraction. Might be able to rotate it out the...

    Vacuum Line Size ?

Just a word on the silicone hoses, most of the ones I’ve bought have a rough outer texture that picks up a lot of grime. If you can find glossier/smoother outer finishes you’ll thank yourself later.

    Strange symptoms

Okay, just popped the seat off and inspection cover. Found out that the securing bolt for the alternator belt tensioner fell off. Guess I didn't lock it down in previous service. Yikes! I think this should explain everything... alternator wasn't charging, power steering was weak, and water pump...

    Strange symptoms

@sk66 @DustAngel mmm got it. Yep, blower motor is going, and I can hear the ambient/hot air flap opening as well. Just no heat.

    Strange symptoms

Oh yikes, I would've assumed coolant would move as it gets hotter regardless of the pumps operation. That's not the case huh? Perhaps something to do with the thermostat not opening?

    Strange symptoms

Oh damn, thought I’d seen that was the glow plug light, foolish. Looks much more like a fuel water separator hah. Oof I have been warned about the harmonic balancer. I’ll pop under and give it a look tonight. Could this explain the heat as well? I.E. the water pump isn’t running so the coolant...

    Strange symptoms

Hey all, Out of the blue my Delica has some strange things going on. I have a few lights on, power steering seems powerless, I've entirely lost my heater/climate control, and I have really weird squeaking sounds coming from the engine bay that don't sound like a belt. I'll include video at the...

    Leaky turbo

Twas my insight as well: @Hedgehog Can also vouch this is the easiest/most logical place to mount it.

    Leaky turbo

@Hedgehog Seems like a lot of people on here have the ProVent 150, although it seems too bulky to me. I don't condone any Mishimotos, unless you can remove the baffle. It's far too restrictive for an old 4D56. Truthfully I have a hose running straight to the ground and a breather filter on my...

    Leaky turbo

No no, just a high flow catch can. Most of our delicas have them fitted by now. High-flow is key tho, as I suggested earlier. My turbo looked exactly like yours when I bought it.

    Leaky turbo

Agree with @Nenw , maybe spray with a degreaser and see where the oil continues to leak from. New seals/gaskets will help, a high-flow catch-can will solve oil in your intake line. The one thing I'd be super wary of..... I had installed a catch-can (to solve the oil getting into my intake...

    Wobbly Captain's Chair Fix

Awesome fix, thanks. Worth noting, I had two thin washers under the brackets, and no washer under the bolt directly (mine was a 6 hex key bolt). I replaced them with one thicker washer. Needed a 6 & 8 hex key along the way. Also: Captain's chair not locking on linear track? Tacking on here...

    Ultimate Delica Van Guide

Guess that makes sense. Probably nonexistent in Japan then? That was kind of the way with Land Cruisers I believe.

    Ultimate Delica Van Guide

Hold on, you're saying there are '96 and '97 1st-facelift L300s out there with airbags and 3-points on the captains seats??

    1989 Mitsubishi Delica L300 Exceed ... $12,000

Haha I did fall in love again but ultimately I do need to sell it. I’m still in the midst of trying to get it Cal registered. If that’s not of interest to you I could be talked into selling it a bit lower and bailing on registration here.

    Delica Parents

Love it! Do you have the 3 point seatbelts on the captain's seat? Mine are just the lap belt and don't lock at all so the carseat doesn't feel like it's actually being held down at all.

    Carseats in L300 Campers

Is this also true for the Super Exceeds with the 3-point on the captains chair pillar?

    Delica Parents

Hey Delica parents of young children, I'm curious where you're putting the carseat in the Delica? The captains seat belts are no good since they don't lock, and the rear bench seat is a bit of a climb and hassle. Thought about welding up a custom mount but geez. I have a 9 month old and I've...
